Training

Bayside Triathlon Club offers a number of weekly sessions for members to participate and train together.

Some sessions are structured and provided by qualified coaches through our training provider, MERCURYmultisport, and some sessions are uncoached but provide an opportunity for athletes to meet and train with other club members. 

SESSION DETAILS

FREE SESSIONS FOR BAYSIDE MEMBERS

Weekend Rides (Free for Bayside Members)
6am Saturday & 7am Sunda - Black Rock Clocktower (outside Florist on Beach Road ). 
This is an unstructured and uncoached ride. Cyclists that attend these sessions should have a solid level of cycling ability and have experience at riding in groups. Cyclists have the options of a number of turnaround options, Patterson River (40km loop), Frankston (50km loop), Mt Eliza (65km loop), or Dromana (100km loop).

Thursday Run or Brick Sessions (Swim/Run etc) (Free for Bayside Members)
6:30pm Thursday (Nov to March) - Bayside Clubrooms  
A club run training session targeting prospective triathletes who are joining the sport or want to maintain a good standard of fitness by participating in regular training and triathlon related activities led by experienced club triathletes.

BAYSIDE MONTHLY AQUATHONS home-slide-006

Thursday Open Water Swim, Run or Aquathon ($5 for Bayside Members and $10 for non-members including dinner and drink) 
6:30pm Thursday - Bayside Clubrooms (3rd Nov, 24th Nov, 15th Dec, 19th Jan, 1st Mar 2012)
The swim and run formats of the aquathons cater for the social and competitive athlete. The events will be of varying distances and formats, all levels cater for.

COACHED TRAINING SESSIONS

Provided by qualified coaches through our training provider MERCURYmultisport and we encourage anyone interested in finding out more about triathlon caoching to come along for a free trial.

MERCURY RUNNING SESSIONS

6:30pm Tuesday - Sandringham Athletics Club (Glamis Ave, Hampton Mel 76 K6)
Coached run training sessions taken by MERCURYmultisport accredited coaches with sessions focussed on improving speed and pacing via fartlek and interval based sessions.

MERCURY CYCLING SESSION

6:00am Thursday - Packer Velodrome (Leila Rd, Carnegie Mel 68 J8)
Coached cycling sessions taken by MERCURYmultisport accredited coaches with sessions focussed on improving endurance, strength, speed and pacing.

MERCURY WEEK-END TRAINING SESSIONS                     

Saturday or Sunday- Venue Various
Weekend sessions taken by MERCURYmultisport accredited coaches with Triathlon specific sessions including long rides, brick sessions, time trials, transition practice, open water swim and runs.

BAYSIDE TRIATHLON CLUB SWIMMING SESSION

6am Tuesday & Friday at Waves Aquatic Centre
Enter pool through side door at 5:50 for a 6:00 start. Bring along full kit bag including pull buoy, fins, paddles, kick board, etc and you must print your name and pay for the swim session prior to entering the pool.  No payment or name - no swimming as this is an insurance requirement. There are 3 payment options:

1) Casual - $15.00 per session
2) Monthly pass - $95.00 (valid for all sessions of a calendar month)
