Tri-Training sessions - November to March

Location: Meet at Clubhouse at 18:30, for a 18:45 start

Thursday is our Triathlon Training night particularly focused to triathletes and prospective triathletes who are joining the sport or want to maintain a good standard by participating in regular training and triathlon related activities. Experienced club triathletes will provide advice to new up-and-coming triathletes. You are never too young or old to learn so everyone benefits.

Regular events will be held that offer different lengths and types of training to suit varying standards of triathletes. Generally there will be regrouping between legs of the activities to keep triathletes together but still challenging them.

Every Thursday night there will be training activities. Even if the weather is not favourable there will be training in and around the clubroom. Watch the newsletter or facebook / email on the day for updates. Bayside Tri Club will offer a range of trainings based around transition to help you get into triathlons, and for those who already know their way, as a great hit out prior to the Sunday events, or just a fun social training activity.

Recommended Training Gear

Swim: A wetsuit is not essential but it helps. Discuss this with experienced members before investing. Brightly coloured bathing cap is compulsory. Good swimming goggles are recommended. Ear plugs are worthwhile to minimise risk of ear infections.

Bike: Many Thursday night tri-training sessions will now incorporate a cycling leg specially during bad weather / or water quality. It will be necessary to bring and set up your bike on a windtrainer in the clubroom. It would be desirable to buy a windtrainer. Try our sponsor, O’Mara Cycles and get a discount with your Bayside membership card.  There are a couple of club windtrainers but it you want to be sure of getting the training in; bring your own. Bike shoes are desirable for maximum performance but not essential. Discuss this with experienced members before investing.

Run: Good quality running shoes. Elastic laces assist transition times. Discuss this with experienced members.
