NIKKI JANSZ

How many years have you been in Triathlon? 4-5 years.
Why did you start? In March 2001, I needed to lose weight and thought that completing a standard distance triathlon would be a good goal - my goal was Windsor UK, June 2002 - then I got hooked. Now I just love the sport.
What's your favourite race? Windsor 2002 (UK).
What's your favourite leg? When all is well, the run; otherwise, the finish line.
If you could win one event in the world what would it be? "Who wants to be a millionaire" - only kidding, probably Forster.
What's your favourite drink? Coffee - in all forms.
What's your best race? Pembrokeshire 2003 (Wales) was my best ever bike leg - my weakest discipline.
Is there something you eat which you shouldn't? Chocolate, hot chips, coffee scrolls.......damn, just woke up.
Who is your idol? Jackie Gallagher, Loretta Harrop.
What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you in a race? As prep for a my first race, I competed in the inaugural Great North Tri, in Manchester. It was a Sprint Tri in May 2002. At 6am, they couldn't reach the min water temp to swim, so they measured it behind the boat (rumours were that was < 8 deg). My legs/feet were numb the whole race - I had to sit to get my bike shoes on. 1/2hr after the race, I was still checking to see if my feet were still there - I got the comment "Well at least you will never get any colder".
If you could change anything in Triathlon what would it be? More understanding for cyclists on the road.
If you could have any kind of car what would it be? A 6.0 litre V8 that I don't have to pay for.......I already have one!
