| How many years have you been in Triathlon? | 18 years. | ||
| Why did you start? | I had to stop playing squash because of non-specific arthritis. I liked the idea of triathlon because, by doing three sports, you were not overdoing any one, which was a reasonable assumption before I started doing Ironmans. I have now done 18 (started in 1995) with a total of 176 triathlons. | ||
| What's your favourite race? | Hawaii IronMan - because it is such a tough race and its history. | ||
| What's your favourite leg? | Usually the bike. | ||
| If you could win one event in the world what would it be? | Hawaii IronMan. | ||
| What's your favourite drink? | Hot chocolate. | ||
| What's your best race? | Hawaii IronMan 1996 - 14th out of 71; won IronMan Malaysia 2001. | ||
| Is there something you eat which you shouldn't? | No, no food is bad, just need the right proportions. | ||
| Who is your idol? | Don Bradman - so far ahead of anyone else in their sport. | ||
| What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you in a race? | In the Australian Masters Games 10 km run at Albert Park, could not find a place to park, missed the start and had to run through the 5 km runners coming the other way towards me to catch up with the 10 km runners. At the Frankston Long Course, 1st on the bike, 3rd on the run and swim, but 4th overall - work that one out!! | ||
| If you could change anything in Triathlon what would it be? | For TA to get and keep their act together. | ||
| If you could have any kind of car what would it be? | Not really into cars - like my Subaru. | ||
